What is Alpha?
We encourage everyone to take Alpha at least once! Alpha gives everyone the opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. Everyone is welcome to contribute their opinions and no question is considered hostile or too simple. Questions might include—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Alpha is for anyone and people attend from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. People come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus and more.
What happens at Alpha?
We'll have a free dinner together each week before discussion - a chance to get to know each other. Then there is a short talk which looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is followed by a time of discussion in small groups, where everyone is welcome to contribute their opinion and ask questions. People usually stay in the same small groups for the duration of the course so they can get to know each other, continue discussions and deepen friendships. The emphasis is on exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment.
The next Alpha Course starts September 18th, 2019 6 pm!
What is Baptism?
Water baptism is a public declaration identifying with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. It is a statement that you have trusted Jesus for forgiveness of sins and eternal life. It represents the beginning of a changed life!
When can I be baptized?
Our water baptisms are every two months on the lawn at the Ali'i Drive church. Watch this webpage and our Sunday Announcements for dates, then wear something that can get wet and bring your friends and family to celebrate with you!
