Living Stones Outreach Ministries

Homeless Ministry

The Homeless Ministry provides lunch at “The Friendly Place”, located in downtown Kona, every Thursday at noon. It also occasionally provides medical assistance and has times of prayer.

Homeless ministry provides for those Jesus tells us to honor—the poor among us. ‘God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.” 1 Corinthians 1:28 We are privileged to serve the homeless of the Big Island, because in doing so we are serving Jesus.

Sewing Ministry

The Sewing ministry is an industrious group of people using their skills to bless people. They have partnered with Dress-A-Girl and send dresses around the world through missionaries or in shoeboxes at Christmastime. Join this team if you love to sew or would like to learn on the job—no experience needed.

Partnership Ministries

KKO: Kona Kids Outreach

Kona Kids Outreach began with a vision to serve a specific people group, the Marshallese, tutoring and mentoring children to overcome language, cultural and societal barriers. KKO has grown into much more as God revealed His desire for children of all cultural backgrounds to understand their unique design by a loving Creator and for them to know Him personally. Over time, this ministry has expanded to reach different people groups and neighborhoods and has also gained partnership with other organizations to serve the Big Island of Hawaii.

Care Portal

The Big Island has an inordinate number of kids in foster care. Care Portal has been an amazing way for us at Living Stones to meet the felt needs of foster families, families that have been recently reunified, or families in danger of being separated because of dire needs. Through Care Portal, we are able to partner with various social services to provide for immediate needs that arise for families in Hawaii.

Join the large number of people involved today by signing up here and signing up for emails about needs in your vicinity. (If you live off-island, research whether there’s a local church in your area that partners with Care Portal and get involved! It’s truly a miraculous way to be introduced to those with the greatest needs right in your backyard.)

LIV.

LIV. exists to empower women and families with high-quality pregnancy support, wellness services, and women’s health appointments. Their pregnancy services include pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and prenatal counseling appointments. LIV. is a 501c3 registered nonprofit. They are based in Kona and serve the Big Island of Hawaii.

Path International

Path International Ministries is a Jesus-centered organization that aims to rescue and bring restoration to orphaned children living in the harshest places. They accomplish this by partnering with families, community leaders, and churches to eliminate extreme poverty by addressing vulnerabilities, providing education, and creating opportunities to empower those who have been forgotten.

Living Stones specifically supports Otino Waa, a school and place of care and refuge for children in northern Uganda.

Otino Waa started out of a desperate need to protect orphaned children from being abducted by the LRA and becoming child soldiers. What began as a rescue mission in 2002 and 2003 has developed into a home, school and family for over 300 orphaned children. Over the years, they have sought out the most vulnerable, desolate children to take into their orphanage. Otina Waa’s desire is to meet the greatest, most dire needs.
