Who we are

"And coming to Him as a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also as living stones are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:4-5

Living Stones Church is a group of diverse individuals united by a common love for Jesus, learning together how to glorify God and enjoy His presence. We adhere to the dual objectives of perpetuating sound biblical doctrine and pursuing the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

what we believe

Pillars of faith

In a culture of faith we build our beliefs upon these four pillars:

God is good

We’re living from a victory Jesus has already won, not for a victory

Nothing is impossible with God.

Every born again believer is uniquely created and gifted by God with a purpose.

We also believe in the basic, fundamental truths of the Christian faith that say:

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, & authoritative word of God. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16 NASB)
There is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is Lord and God, He was born to a virgin, He lived a sinless life, He performed miracles, atoned for sin with His death, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven and will return in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit enables a Christian to live a holy life and gives gifts which are in operation in the church today.
A person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. He is the only way to a relationship with God the Father. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
There will be a resurrection of the dead, with those who believe enjoying eternal life with Jesus and unbelievers experiencing eternal punishment in hell. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 2 Timothy 4:1-2

What is our mission?

We believe that the local church is the God-given blueprint for cultural revolution.
Each local church is a mission base; each living stone a missionary.
In the context of vibrant local churches we make disciples, develop and nurture a culture of faith, and extend the kingdom of God.

Our mission as Living Stones Church, simply put, is to:

Equip

Everyone in the family is on a journey to maturity in Christ. We want to help them along in knowledge, character, and power. We want to help them discover their unique purpose and giftings and learn how to use their unique abilities well.

Reach

There are people who don’t know Jesus and have yet to start their journey with God. Through evangelism inside and outside the church walls, we want to bring the unsaved into the family of God.

Send

With church as a mission base, we send out missionaries: into communities, into workplaces, and even into other cities and countries. We want to support the saints in being effective at kingdom expansion wherever they are called.

Discipleship Growth track

For us, discipleship is simply helping people take their “next step” in following Jesus.
While some details and timing vary, we want to see everyone progress through the following Growth Track:

Know God

Firstly, this is coming into an actual relationship with God through Jesus. If you are reading this and are unsure whether you have, go to our Salvation Prayer page to read more.

As part of this first step we ask everyone to go through an Alpha Course, which we currently offer twice a year.

Find Freedom

A renewed mind needs to be developed (see Romans 12:2), which involves identifying lies you’ve believed and replacing them with the truth.

Freedom Groups and Freedom Sessions help do that.

Discover Purpose

The Bible tells us that God created each of us uniquely, with different personalities, spiritual gifts, and passions. Everyone has a purpose and God wants us to discover it.

The Discover Purpose course and Discover Purpose Groups are a great start.

Make a Difference

Real joy comes from knowing your life is productive and that you’re making a difference for eternity. We want to help people learn how to invest their life and not just spend it.
