Hi everyone,
Thanksgiving is coming and I’m getting ready sooner than usual. And it’s not with food prep. Then how, you say? By focusing on intentional gratitude – starting with God. Obviously, it involves thanking Him for what He has already done. But it’s also considering what He’s going to do. We mix faith with thankfulness – thinking ahead and, therefore, “thanking ahead.” We can do that as we fix our focus on the goodness and promises of our Father.
Second, I want to exercise the power of thankfulness with people. Give it a try. Think about picking a few people and saying thanks. Look back and reflect on who has left fingerprints on your life. Who believed in you when others didn’t? Who was there through hard times and good times? Research shows that authentic gratitude not only carries the power of encouragement to the people we thank, but it also benefits us by reducing stress, resolving conflict and – get this – reversing aging! So who do you need to thank?
