Hi living stones,
As we wind up this year’s “21 Days of Prayer & Fasting,” it hit me that I need to focus on getting better at simply being like Jesus. I mean, that’s what a disciple does, right? We arrange our lives around becoming like Jesus. And if you had to summarize Jesus-like character in one word, what would it be? There’s only one right answer – love! It’s the core of genuine spiritual formation. The single most important question in becoming more like Jesus is, are we becoming more loving? It’s a big part of why we do small groups and the Alpha Course. You cannot follow Jesus alone because, among other things, you can’t love effectively if you’re alone. So take your next step in spiritual formation – sign up this weekend for the Alpha Course or a Small Group!

Signups for the Alpha Course begin this Sunday!
Alpha is a seven-week overview of the Christian faith, that also serves as a brush up on the basics for those who have been Christians for a while. It’s a great opportunity to create new relationships and includes a free supper and childcare each week. The course begins Wednesday, September 18, at 6pm, on the lawn at Alii Drive. Signup online HERE or at the signup tables after any service beginning this Sunday. And invite a friend to take the course with you! |
