Dear living stones,
Our hearts and prayers are with everyone on Maui affected by the fires. If you would like to send financial support, we are partnering with our friends at Hope Chapel Maui in Kihei. You may send donations directly to them HERE. They have boots on the ground and are up-to-date, moment to moment on what’s actually going on there – at least as much as possible in the circumstances.
This Sunday, Living Stones Church is also participating with Paradise Helicopters and a group of local medical professionals who are flying over to set up a temporary clinic at a Maui airport close to Lahaina. A couple of our staff will be flying over with them for prayer ministry.
Looking ahead we anticipate sending future teams over for cleanup and construction, but the timing on all of that is completely up in the air right now. We’ll be making announcements as things unfold. We want to help in every way possible – but without getting in the way. Of utmost importance, be praying.
Here are a few points to focus on:
- Safety and protection for the people of Maui and emergency responders.
- Comfort and healing for those who have been injured, evacuated from their homes or lost property.
- Wisdom for leaders who are responsible for making decisions to stop the fires, direct recovery, and rescue efforts, and rebuild.
- Wisdom for Jesus-followers on how to love well and share the hope of the gospel in these unique circumstances.
